Swapping High Heels for Trainers!

30th April 2015

Tanya Srikandan, YMCA East London’s Director of Finance, is braving the elements, and is taking part in Tough Mudder – Midlands in support of YMCA East London’s work with homeless young people.

On the 30th May, Tanya will be swapping high heels and comfortable surroundings, for a muddy and grueling 10m assault course. She hopes to raise awareness and some cash, to help support YMCA East London’s work with young people.

With ice water drops, hoops of fire, towering walls and acres and acres of mud to overcome, this will be a test of endurance and willpower.

Tanya says, “Now I think about it, I am probably a little crazy. Anyone will tell you I am not a naturally sporty person. But I do love a challenge, and what better way to raise some money for a fantastic charity like YMCA East London. Our charity has gone through some tough times, and like all the YMCAs in the UK, we have brilliant, dedicated staff, and a great bunch of residents. Seeing them go through their journey is heartwarming. The pain of this event will be worth it.’
