Nick Wedderburn, Family & Childcare Administrator
Nick2

Joined YMCA East London in 2008

What do you like best about working for us?

The amount of experience I have gained in my role. I also enjoy being the first point of contact for the office in terms of enquiries relating to our provision of family and childcare services.

Describe a typical day in the life of your a Family & Childcare Administrator.

My job mainly involves responding to emails, telephone calls and updating our childcare systems with the numerous FCC events we hold on our premises.

What do you think about the learning and development opportunities offered in YMCA EL?

One of the good things we offer is a lot of internal training that’s paid for by the organisation so we’re always up to date.

Name a couple of things you have on your ‘Things I must do before…. list’

I’d love to drive around America in a Mustang. I’d also like to go to The Seychelles.

If you had the means to invent a gadget that could do anything you choose, what would it be?

A button I could press which would do my ironing automatically. I also like the idea of a super games console with all the old games on it, virtual reality, etc.

What would you say to someone thinking of joining us?

Go for it! It’s a good place to get experience across a lot of fields and no two days are the same.
