Joined YMCA East London in 2011

What do you like best about working for us?

I get on well with the staff and I like what we do. We have so much opportunity to make a difference in young peoples’ lives.

Describe a typical day in the life of a Learning & Skills Manager

A lot of my work is project based with deadlines so I check emails regularly. My work is generally about communications with staff on current projects centering on training.

What do you think about the learning and development opportunities offered in YMCA EL?

Very good. We cover what we need to in terms of how to protect ourselves in the industry. We’re a learning organisation so we develop staff to do their jobs properly using a more tailored approach to each individual’s needs.

Name a couple of things you have on your ‘Things I must do before…. list’

Educate myself and my children on British heritage by travelling around the UK a bit more. I’d also love to travel to Japan and India.

If you had the means and resources to invent a gadget that could do anything you choose, what would it be?

I’d like to be able to fly….it’s better than driving!

What would you say to someone thinking of joining us?

You have to be the kind of person that’s passionate and creative. That’s a good place to start.
