Location: Walthamstow, East London

Type of Contract: Permanent, full-time

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Work on a rota system which includes early mornings, weekends and bank holidays

Salary: £25,500.00 per annum

Our Estates Department is looking for an Estates Services Supervisor, to support the Estates Manager in ensuring that the building, facilities and grounds of YMCA East London are kept in good order through a schedule of planned works and timely remedial maintenance, repairs and specific improvement projects.

About the job:

Your main duties will include the following:

  • Carrying out daily health & safety checks and weekly tests of fire alarms and emergency lighting in all properties
  • Maintaining all external areas’ cleanliness and general tidiness
  • Cleaning all flat roofs and roof drains and assisting with the cleaning of guttering to buildings
  • Recording all housing related repairs as completed on the Association’s housing management IT system PYRAMID
  • Undertaking repairs reported by service users and arranging repairs with contractors with prior approval of the line manager
  • Assisting with the ordering and taking of delivers of materials
  • Managing and supervising the day to day work of the Estates Service Officers ensuring the highest standards and productivity is maintained

About you:

  • At least one relevant trade qualification (e.g. plumbing, electric, carpentry, multi-skilled City & Guilds, etc.)
  • Knowledge of general building maintenance, electricity including electrical safety and plumbing systems (hot and cold)
  • At least 3 years’ experience of general building repairs & maintenance
  • Experience in painting and decorating, plumbing and electrical repairs and installation of electrical appliances
  • Experience of supervising and managing staff
