Accommodation Overview

Last year 489 young homeless people made their ‘home’ with us.

At YMCA East London we currently have 342 units of supported and semi supported accommodation, including:

  • 175 units in our main tower hostel
  • 65 units of studio accommodation
  • 48 units spread across 10 shared houses
  • 30 mYPads – containerised studio units for those in employment
  • 24 units of studio accommodation for 16-17 year old care leavers

On arrival at our main hostel, each resident is assigned one of our qualified Supported Housing Officers, who works with them on their individual support plan, helping them into education, training and employment. Our 4 stages of accommodation and tailored support have been specifically designed to facilitate our residents’ journey to independence.

As a YMCA East London resident you can also access and check your rent account via our new on-line system www.mytenancy.co.uk

In addition, we provide a range of skills training and work opportunities. We also have a dedicated residents’ zone where residents can take part in a range of social activities, and we organise trips and events throughout the year.

Last year, 99 residents were resettled into independent living, highlighting the benefits of the services and support we provide.
